The homeowner, a couple with toddlers, wanted to transform the master bathroom of their 1950s San Jose home into a soothing spa, but the existing space presented a considerable challenge-only 36.5 square feet, the master bathroom Disproportionately small and cramped.

The designer Ratna Mehetre of Hans Spaces LLC merged an adjacent hallway linen wardrobe with a small master bedroom wardrobe to expand the bathroom footprint. The goal of bowel reconstruction is to create a space that is not only luxurious but also suitable for young children. A new free-standing bathtub was incorporated into this space, the wall on one side was sealed for safety, and there was also a custom walk-in glass shower room with custom slanted doors. I chose a dressing table, which can provide the appearance of a floating dressing table and at the same time increase the stability of the free-standing dressing table. The space can be accessed through a pocket door, and there is a floor drain outside the shower for easy cleaning. Reflective and cool finishes were chosen for the walls and floors to create the illusion of extra spaciousness, while the large round rattan mirrors provide a sense of depth.
