Often called the “King of the Megamansion,” noted architect Richard Landry is probably best known for designing wildly over-the-top estates owned by celebs like Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen, Mark Wahlberg, Sylvester Stallone and Kourtney Kardashian, just to name a few. And one thing’s for sure: his homes are never boring, whether he’s churning out a grand chateau-style mansion or creating a one-of-a-kind facade for a modern Malibu villa.

But in this particular case, Landry is the master of his own domain — a contemporary Brentwood residence that he personally designed, built, decorated, landscaped and lived in with husband Chris Drugan. The house has just sold off-market for $18 million — or a whopping total of $19.5 million with all the furnishings included — to JB Perrette, the newly minted CEO and president of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Streaming and Interactive Entertainment.

Morgan Trent and Aaron Kirman of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass repped Landry in the transaction, which was reportedly one of the highest-priced sales on record for this particular pocket of Brentwood, south of San Vicente Boulevard.

Landry bought the property for $5.1 million in 2015, and subsequently spent three years building his dream home. The result of those efforts encompasses six bedrooms and eight baths spread across 13,200 square feet of stylish living space punctuated throughout by whitewashed brick and paneled walls, soaring ceilings, dazzling light fixtures and much more.

The brick and pitched-roof structure stuns from the outset with a brushed stainless-steel garage topped by a black cornice supporting a terrace garden. From there, a black and brass-trimmed double front door leads into a dramatic double-height atrium crowned by a vaulted skylight, and a stunning library is spotlighted by an antique tin ceiling, backlit bookshelves and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace sporting a Palissandro marble surround.

Other highlights include a formal dining room and spacious great room, with each featuring steel-framed glass doors opening to the outdoors. A gourmet kitchen crafted in collaboration with interior designer Laurie Haefele comes complete with dual islands, quartzite slab countertops, high-end stainless appliances, eye-catching teal blue cabinetry and an adjacent dining area.

A floating concrete staircase heads upstairs, where the sumptuous master retreat has pocketing glass doors that spill out to a private wraparound terrace holding a fire-pit, plus a luxe bath boasting a large standalone soaking tub that flows seamlessly out to an English-inspired garden hosting an Éric Racine sculpture.

As for other posh amenities, they include a fully equipped gym and movie theater outfitted with professional-grade speakers, as well as a lower-level game room displaying a seated bar and rail-themed mural. Outdoors, the picturesque grounds include a pool and spa flanked by a cabana, along with several spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining.
